Douglas Engelbart inventor of a mouse

Born in 1925, Engelbart studied electrical engineering. In 1957 he joined the Stanford Research Institute (SRI) in California, where he was later given his own research lab. There, his team developed the revolutionary oNLine System (NLS). This allowed up to 16 workstations to operate together, running programs with multiple windows between which text and objects could move

During World War II, the young Engelbart worked as a radar technician for the navy. His knowledge of how radar information was displayed on-screen inspired his 1951 vision of how hypertext might work

A vision of the future
Every time you use a mouse to click on a link to a new web page, you have American electrical engineer Douglas Engelbart to thank. Engelbart was an early computer pioneer. As far back as 1951, he imagined screens with information flowing between them, and people navigating the screens to learn, form, and organize their ideas. Sounds familiar? He could be describing the Internet and hypertext—text with active links to other pages.

New controls
In the early 1950s, very few computers existed, and they were controlled by experts and engineers
using punched cards or rewiring circuits. Engelbart’s vision demanded faster, simpler, more natural ways of working. His team developed cursors that could be dragged around the screen. They also experimented with corded key sets (keyboards), where pressing down different combinations of five piano like keys created commands.

Eye in the sky

Fifteen years ago, people would have thought you were crazy if you suggested using a PC to fly around a virtual Earth, zooming out to see whole continents, then zooming in to see your own home. Yet, through faster Internet access, better computers, and smart programming, a range of mapping services now allows you to do just that. ASTU, for example, can be explored in many different ways.

Clover Chrome-Style Tabs to Windows Explorer

Clover Brings Chrome-Style Tabs to Windows Explorer

Windows: Tab management in Chrome is great, and if you wish Windows Explorer had tabs that look and work like Google Chrome, Clover is the app for you.
Once installed, Windows Explorer will have tabs that work almost exactly like the ones in Chrome work. Cntrl+T opens a new tab, Ctrl+W closes it, even middle-clicking to close a tab works. There's even a new tab box to click for a fresh explorer tab—just like in Chrome. If you right-click on a tab, you even get the same contextual menu options, including the option to re-open a closed tab, duplicate an existing tab, or pin a tab to the back of the list.
Clover is completely free, and supports Windows XP and higher. The tabbed interface is snappy and fast, and the tabbed interface compliments the stock explorer UI. The developer's site is in Chinese, but he has an English page on his site (linked below.) To download the app, hit download button.

simple steps to create your own blog

While there are many, many blogging applications out there, wordpress, wix I think that the easiest by far is Blogger.  I personally use Blogger, in some form, for the 4 blogs that I currently run.  Even if you decide to go elsewhere after this class, using Blogger and getting used to Blog-speak will prepare you well for the next application you use.
This tutorial goes over the basics that you need to utilize Blogger for the requirements in this course.
Step 1 you need gmail account if not sign up
Step 2 go to www.blogger.com

step 3 click on new blog

step 4
  •  fill your blog title in the space provided
  • chose your desired blog address that u want your blog be named    eg: geletu.blogspot.com
  • Choose a template.
  • Blogger has quite a few templates that you can use.  These determine what your blog looks like.  While none may be perfect for you, pick one that speaks to you a little.  Click on the  template you want to use and then click on the “create blog” button

Step 5  post something for first just by clicking on "new post" its really simple try it . if u failor problem with that just ask me or comment.

step 6 after you write or upload image or something click on "publish" button   i recommend you 3 trial post before trying to edit your blog layout .

step 6 now check what your blog look like.  just enter your blog name that yo used in step 4 as address ,
 i.e geletu.blogspot.com   . .... in a address bar .

Stay tuned for part 2 .
       edit layout
       add gadgets  and many more
